Considered different perspectives on what constit utes mental health and mental ill-health.\n
~~Improved knowledge of some prevalent psychiatric diagnoses from the ICD -10 and DSM 5 and their impact upon communication.~~ ~~~~

~~Consideration s related to diagnostic labels and the use of lang uage in engagements. ~~
\n
~~Explored the fundamental nature of emotion al co-regulation and self-regulation to mental hea lth and communication.~~
\n
Considered some perspectives of people d iagnosed/impacted upon by mental health conditions .
\n
Improved knowledge of the main groups of ps ychiatric medication and their impact upon communi cation.
\n
Improv ed understanding of complex presentations: co-morb idity\, concurrent mental health conditions\, addi ction issues and/or learning difficulties/disabili ties\, and ‘personality disorders’.
\n
A better understanding of how t o address safeguarding concerns in relation to men tal health.

~~Explo red approaches to assessing the impact of mental i ll-health and emotional dysregulation on communica tion.~~

The workshop is run in the form of a small gr oup training. The presenters will present informat ion and will invite high levels of participation a nd sharing of knowledge and ideas. Prepared slides /handouts guide the process rather than impart inf ormation.
