Anyone looking to learn more about self-compassion and building resilience in a professional context.

Description

If you find yourself struggling to effectively deal with difficulties and set-backs in life, this workshop will help to harness self-compassion and resilience skills.

Course content:

The workshop is partially based on the work of Kristin Neff, author of 'Self-Compassion' and 'Fierce Self-Compassion'. It will explore how we can use self-compassion to respond to set-backs and difficulties more effectively. We will use a range of tools including writing exercises, visualisation and guided reflection to put our difficulties in a bigger perspective and gain resilience.

Course aims/objectives:

Participants will learn:

1. Definitions of compassion and self-compassion.

2. How to use self-compassion meditations during times of difficulty.

3. Techniques to put difficulties into a bigger context and learn to take set-backs less personally.

Course method:

The workshop is run in the form of a small group training. The presenter will persent information and will invite high levels of participation and sharing of knowledge and ideas. Prepared slides/handouts guide the process rather than impart information.

The following materials are provided:
